Despite featuring in just one season of How I Met Your Mother (and the season in question remaining controversial among fans to this day), very few would deny that Tracy McConnell, the titular mother of the show, is one of its main highlights.
Fans had been clamouring for a glimpse of Ted's wife for years, and Cristin Milioti absolutely nailed it with the right balance of wit and warmth, making us all fall in love with her, from her initial introduction at the train station through to the heart-breaking conclusion of her story.
Over the course of just a handful of episodes, we saw Tracy interact with all members of the main group and their introductions, and we quickly realised how much she brought a level of wisdom and heartfelt care to the main gang. It's a shame really that her relationship with Ted and the group wasn't explored further.
