How I Met Your Mother: The Worst Things Each Main Character Has Done

Barney Stinson has, without a doubt, done the most terrible things in the entirety of the show. In fact, there's a whole episode titled The Bracket wherein the gang go through Barney's most shocking moments and decide which is the worst. Amongst those are instances like: selling a woman, leaving a woman stranded in the woods and stealing her car and fake proposing.

Despite Barney's awful antics revealed in The Bracket, none are worse than the way he treated fan favourite - Nora in the episode titled Tick Tick Tick.

In the previous episode titled Disaster Averted, Barney and Robin share a cab ride home after a hurricane hits New York City. Whilst they reminisce about their time as a couple, they spend the night together. In Tick Tick Tick, they decide to tell their respective partners so they can be together. After many failed attempts at breaking up on a cruise ship, Barney eventually tells Nora at her home in the company of her English parents and they break up.

Although Barney has a history of adulterous behaviour, the fact that the audience had such a connection with Nora made this the worst of them all.
