the impossible astronautSeries 6. The two-part opening episode presents us with a 'mystery'. The Doctor will soon die on a beach in Utah. In fact, his two companions and River Song both watch him die. But then, the Doctor appears again. A younger version, who soon learns of his upcoming destiny, and realizes that it is a locked point in time and cannot be undone. Oh wait, yes it can. He hops inside a robot that looks like him, and the robot gets shot. The Doctor pops out and says "The laws of time said I had to be on that beach, so I was!" Excuse me, what? So the laws of time can be re-written with a not-at-all clever play on words? We spent an entire season following this story, and that's the explanation you give us? Thanks a heap. Series 7. The end of season 6 presented us with the idea that "the oldest question, the question that must never be answered" is 'Doctor Who?' Season 7 promised to answer the question. First off, yeah right. The name of the show is Doctor Who. We know you're not actually going to reveal it, so anticipate for an entire year when we know the only possible result is an aggravating, cop-out ending like series 6? And even if you do reveal it, nobody is going to satisfied with it.
