Speaking of kidnapping, the time they kidnapped Fisher Steven’s bar critic was a classic example of the Gang constantly escalating things.

After getting a bad review, they decide to track the writer down. However, things don’t go to plan and he ends up stuffed in the boot of a car, driven back to Paddy’s Pub and taped to a chair. They’ll let him go, they tell him, but only if he writes a more complimentary review then and there.

This is bad enough, but things then get worse. He needs the bathroom, which means Mac and Charlie need to help him go. Meanwhile, Dee continues to call him a ‘f*****’ for ordering a Chardonnay, despite that landing them a bad review in the first place.

Also, because the critic keeps complaining about his cat, the Gang breaks into his house to feed it. Typically though, they get the wrong house and end up kidnapping another person, stuffing him into their car boot too.

This is one of many examples of them doing a heinous thing, then piling more bad decisions on top.
