3. Breaking Sweet Dee
This is the Gang turning on one of their own members, and should cover the bases of the general insults hurled at Dee, the multiple times they’ve destroyed her car and the host of other ways they’ve treated her like garbage over the years.
In terms of the scale and sheer effort of planning, and unimaginable cruelty of the whole thing, this one has to be on this list, despite a member of the Gang being a victim herself.
After Dee is depressed, Frank, Mac and Charlie set her up at a comedy club, thinking that lower self-esteem will make her less nervous. However, she ends up being a minor local success, and after sleeping with her fairly gross agent, this minor success becomes major. She gains legions of fans, gets invited to Conan and hops on a private jet.
Through her meteoric rise, she’s got her own back, and started treating the Gang the way they treated her. When the jet lands and she’s rushed to Conan’s studio though, she finds the whole thing was a scam.
Her success, her fans, her agents... all a charade funded by Frank to break her out of her depression in the most devastating way.
