2. Everything With Rickety Cricket
Another catch-all example, you could honestly fill the whole entry with Rickety Cricket.
From slicing his neck with a trash can, inviting the mob to break his legs, all the childish torture Mac and Dennis have inflicted on him, and making him homeless in the first place, the Gang have often been horrible to Rickety Cricket.
Matthew, to give him his real name for once, was a priest before he got entangled with the Gang. When Dee professes her love for him, he leaves the priesthood, only for her to immediately take it back and leave him stranded.
This is just the beginning though, as Rickety Cricket (played by David Hornsby, one of the show’s most prolific writers), becomes a general punching bag for the whole Gang afterwards; particularly in the earlier seasons before the cast widens.
From Ryan McPoyle, Maureen Ponderosa, Bill Ponderosa, Country Mac... the list goes on and on of characters who’ve left their meetings with the Gang worse than they entered, but few have suffered as much or as frequently as Rickety Cricket.
