7. The McPoyles

Every group of heroes (if we can call The Gang heroes) needs an adversary. And while everyone whose lives the Paddy’s Pub owners have ruined would consider themselves their enemy, none have as big a rivalry with them as intense the McPoyles.

An incestuous family of unibrow, milk-loving, oddballs fronted by brothers Liam (Jimmy Simpson) and Ryan (Nate Mooney), the family regularly butt heads with Charlie and the rest of the group throughout the series.

They first appear in the first season where the brothers attempt to manipulate Charlie into being part of a fraudulent sexual assault lawsuit against their former high school coach. Since then, the McPoyle clan has continued to provide an uncomfortably hilarious asset to the show. Whenever they appear onscreen is a sign that things are about to get weirder than usual.

Whether they’re showing up to ruin The Gang’s day (intentionally or not), or attempting to hold them hostage out of revenge, the McPoyles are part of some of the show’s highlights.

However, their standout moment is undoubtedly when their beloved milk is spiked at a wedding, causing them to become flesh-eating monsters - a plotline that could only exist in It's Always Sunny.
