Real name Matthew Hara, Rickety Cricket is one character who knows all too well the misfortune that befalls you when crossing paths with The Gang.

Played by David Hornsby, Cricket’s history with The Gang dates back to high school where he had unrequited feelings for Dee. After graduation, though, Cricket found his calling in the priesthood after an impressive academic career. Unfortunately for him, though, his luck was about to end when he ran into Dee once again in the series two episode “The Gang Exploits A Miracle”.

Exploiting his past feelings for her, Dee professes her love for him so that he would bless a stain of the Virgin Mary at Paddy’s. Leaving the priesthood forever to be with his high school crush, Cricket is rejected for a second time.

From hereon, Cricket’s life got progressively worse as a direct result of Dee and company. Not only does he become a homeless drug addict, but he’s also beaten by the mafia, viciously mauled by a dog, looses an eye, and suffers excruciating facial burns.

Cricket’s ongoing misfortune is an running joke that always finds new ways to make this former priest hit an all new rock bottom.
