It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: Each Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Frank Reynolds

Always Sunny Dee
FX

When we first met Frank Reynolds (Danny DeVito) in the season two premiere he was a successful and respectful businessman going through a divorce. The father of Dennis and Dee (as well as Charlie’s suspected biological dad), Frank originally intended to give his vast amount of wealth to charity so that he could start a fresh new life for himself.

However, after spending a short time with his childrens’ friends, Frank finds himself pretending to be severely disabled to trick strippers into sleeping with him. Abandoning all sense of morality, decency, and basic hygiene, Frank moves in with Charlie where he’s free to indulge in his newfound love of depravity and squalor.

From this moment on, Frank’s behaviour only becomes increasingly disgusting and bizarre throughout each season. From his trusty toe knife, hanging out in the sewers, getting stuck in a playground, and smearing himself in sanitiser to become “pure”, there’s no limit to how low the oldest member of The Gang will sink.

But no matter how gross Frank becomes, DeVito’s performance always manages to make his actions hilarious, making him arguably the funniest addition to the sitcom.
