It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)
3. Season Eight
Season eight was the first season to have only ten episodes, but McElhenney, Charlie Day and the other writers certainly made the most of it. With "The Maureen Ponderosa Wedding Massacre", the show delivered one its most inventive and hilariously strange stories ever, and "Charlie and Dee Find Love" sees Charlie at his most genuinely awful.
The crowning achievement of the season, though, has to be "The Gang Gets Analysed", an half-hour journey into just how deluded, co-dependent and unstable each member of the gang actually is.
Even the weakest episodes of the season - "Pop Pop: The Final Solution" and "Charlie's Mom Has Cancer" - aren't enough to overshadow such gems as "The Gang Dines Out" and "The Gang Recycles Their Trash." Season ten is funny and strange, and showcases the gang at their most despicable but also their undeniably hilarious. A tough line to walk, but Sunny does so with ease, showing off what makes it such a marvel.
