It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)

2. Season Five

Its Always Sunny
FX

Season five is a spotless creation. Every episode is an all-time classic, bursting with hilarity, great character development, scathing social satire and some of the most bombastic misadventures the gang has ever been a part of.

This was the season that brought us "The DENNIS System", which shows off just manipulative and egotistical Dennis Reynolds can be, as well as "The World Series Defense", "The Gang Hits the Road", and "The Great Recession." Perhaps the best of the bunch is "The Gang Reignites the Rivalry", simply because it shows the gang working together for a shared goal, despite their selfish reasons.

Season five is Sunny at its most effortless, comfortable and daring, and watching Dennis get rejected by Glenn Howerton's own wife is nothing short of ingenious. Up until this point, the show was just getting better and better, and though season five isn't quite as good as this list's number one pick, it perfectly captures just how great the show can be.
