It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)

9. Season Two

Its Always Sunny
FX

Where season one missed the mark, season two improved massively. Thanks to the introduction of DeVito and Frank Reynolds, the group dynamic was forever changed, and season two wastes little time exploring the new set-up with episodes such as "The Gang Goes Jihad", "Dennis and Dee Go On Welfare", and "The Gang Exploits a Miracle."

This season also saw the arrival of the hysterically tragic Rickety Cricket, and began to really dig into how twisted and toxically codependent the gang are. Dee is shown to be just as crass and extreme as the men, Charlie's bizarre past-times come more into focus, and Dennis's cruel egotism begins to rear its ugly head.

But of course Frank proves to be the star. Without him and his influence on the others, Always Sunny may not have made it as far as it has, and he allowed the gang to find their true potential. Season two isn't the strongest of the bunch, and is still working some things out, but all told this is where the show really began - and what a beginning it was.
