It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)

8. Season Nine

Its Always Sunny

Season nine featured the show's 100th episode, "The Gang Saves the Day", in which Charlie, Dennis, Dee, Mac and Frank find themselves caught in the middle of robbery and imagining how they'd deal with it. Mac's fantasy takes the form of a martial arts movie; Charlie falls head-first into a strange and oddly sweet Pixar-esque animation.

Despite this episode's brilliance, though, it's not quite the best chapter of the season. That honour goes to the "The Gang Squash their Beefs", where many fan favourites, such as Gail the Snail, Bill Ponderosa, and the McPoyles agree to a sit-down and possibly a truce. It does not end well, but boy is it funny.

Season nine also features "Flowers for Charlie", wherein Charlie is tricked into thinking he's a genius, and the simple but hilarious "The Gang Gets Quarantined." Despite some dips in quality from "The Gang Makes Lethal Weapon 6", season nine is a top-tier season of the show, balancing the dark humour with the character development beautifully.
