When It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia first arrived on our screens, it was different to every other sitcom on TV. The characters don’t grow, learn lessons or even really care about each other all that much. They have no qualms about being horrible to their friends or indeed their own family, as shown every episode by Dennis Reynolds and his sister Sweet Dee. Just as we were getting used to - and let’s face it, delighting in - their selfish, antagonist sibling relationship, along came Danny DeVito! He joined the cast as Dennis and Dee’s dad Frank from season two.
The Always Sunny crew don’t worry about tact, politeness or social niceties. They almost always say exactly what’s on their mind. Which certainly doesn’t mean that they’re “just saying what we’re all thinking.” The gang say the kind of jaw-dropping things that it would never occur to most people to even think, let alone say out loud.
With the Reynolds family making up three fifths of the show’s lead characters, it’s no surprise they’ve said their fair share of outrageous and ridiculous things over the show’s 15 seasons to date. But can you recognise each member of the Reynolds family from their words alone?
