It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: The Gang's Most Outrageous Exploits From Each Season
2. The Nightman Cometh (Season 4)
The Nightman Cometh is actually a play based on Charlies alter-ego, introduced in Sweet Dees Dating a Retarded Person. Best of all, the Gang actually puts on the play. Dennis is the Day Man, an innocent little boy who is corrupted by Mac's Nightman. Dee is the love interest and Frank is a troll who collects a troll toll to get into the boys hole, er, boys soul. Before the play can be put on, Charlie has to teach the Gang their parts, and everyone has their own ideas for rewriting the script to make their character more important. Dee is worried about her scene where she sings about loving a tiny boy, baby boy. Mac and Dennis turn the Nightmans corruption of Day Man into a rape scene. Despite all the setbacks, the Gang actually pulls off the play and earns applause from the audience. Of course, it all turns out to be an elaborate ploy by Charlie to win the affections of his beloved Waitress. And like all his other efforts in that arena, it fails. Amazingly, in 2009 the cast actually put on a live performance of the rock opera in a handful of cities across the United States.
