It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: The Gang's Most Outrageous Exploits From Each Season

3. Charlie Work (Season 10)

Here€™s where Sunny€™s flirtation with alternative structures fully blossoms. From the beginning of the series, Charlie has been the foundation of Paddy€™s, and Charlie work has been used to refer to anything the rest of the staff refuses to do €“ cleaning up toilets, repairing electrical wiring, bashing rats, that sort of thing. But it€™s on health inspection day that Charlie really gets to show off. Most of the episode is shot as though it€™s a single scene. The camera follows a frenetic Charlie as he juggles a shrewd health inspector, a deliveryman, the incompetent staff of Paddy€™s, and the Gang€™s ridiculous airline miles/chickens/steaks scheme. Charlie Day€™s acting is a marvel in this one. He dominates every scene and really makes you appreciate just how hard Charlie busts his ass for the bar. Of course, true to Charlie fashion, no one else in the Gang appreciates it. They don€™t even notice the effort Charlie is going through to get Paddy€™s a passing grade. Dennis even takes credit for the broken stool gag Charlie is mysteriously working on all throughout the episode. There are lots of great sight gags, jazzy instrumentation, and a claustrophobic atmosphere that really make this a singular episode in the Sunny canon.
