Legion: 10 Reasons It's The Best Superhero TV Show Of All Time
7. A Unique Cast Of Characters
Whereas most comic book shows and movies tend to rely on the more recognizable and marketable characters, Legion once again deviates from the norm. Apart from the protagonist, David, every main character was created specifically for the show.
In lieu of the types of characters that are typically used in the comic book genre, Legion gives us something of an Island of Misfit Toys. Each character is unique, has their own stories to tell, and has their own burdens to bear.
We have David (Legion), a ridiculously powerful telekinetic, time-altering, telepath; Syd, who switches bodies with anyone she touches; Ptonomy, a man who can explore and alter memories; Cary and Kerry, a brilliant scientist and skilled fighter, respectively, who share a body; as well as several others. These are not your typical clean-cut superpowers. These are on a completely different level than anything we've seen on television from this genre before. Plus that's just the main cast. A good chunk of the the supporting players are good fun as well.
Moreover, each character has their own unique feel about them, with no two being alike. They are fiercely independent from one another in terms of their personalities, yet have enough in common to develop meaningful relationships and work as a cohesive unit.
For a show as incredibly original as Legion it, it only serves to reason that the cast should be equally as original and that is very much the case.
