Legion: 6 Ups & 1 Down From 'Chapter 2'
1. Just Enough Progression
For a lot of this episode, I was concerned that it wasn't really going to move the story along at all. It spent so much time exploring David's powers and his past, which worked well, but little on where the overarching plot might be going.
That's fine to an extent, such Legion has already established itself as a series more concerned with its main character and his psyche than really propelling the narrative along, but with only eight episodes in the season it does still need to keep the bigger picture stuff moving.
Thankfully it all comes together in the final 10 minutes or so, in which David sees his sister Amy looking for him in Clockworks, and calls out to her (how exactly that works is all a bit unclear). She calls back to him, which then leads to her being taken in for questioning by Division 3, the mysterious government agency pursuing David for presumably nefarious means. It helps advance this part of the story, meaning there'll be greater urgency to what it is they're after and the fight to stop them, while also bringing Amy more into the centre of things.
There's also another sighting of the strange, mysterious Devil With Yellow-Eyes, who obviously means something significant, we just have no idea what.
