Legion: Ranking Every Main Character From Worst To Best

We now come to Legion's titular character, which is a responsibility that he more than lives up to.

When it comes to making a television show there is a certain way that the protagonist needs to be treated, and Legion got it absolutely right. David Haller is the main character of Legion, and they make sure that you never once forget that.

In the first season alone, we have seen an incredible amount of depth and growth with this character. The story of this man's life and struggle are illustrated in vivid detail, as we see first-hand the amount of torment his great power has caused him, practically since birth. Frankly, across the entire X-Men universe, David's story is arguably the single best of a mutant coming to terms with his powers we've ever gotten.

Moreover, David's personality has an incredible amount of depth. He's snarky, funny and charming, but also wears a very thin mask of sanity as a result of the aforementioned years of psychological torture. And this is something we see him grow to be able to control better following his omnipresent journey of self-discovery. We're only one season in and he's already such a complete character.

The cherry on top of all of this is a near-flawless performance by Dan Stevens, who masks his English accent perfectly, was no slouch in preparing for the role, and clearly very much enjoys playing David.
