Loki Episode 1: 8 Biggest Questions

5. Why Is There No Mind Stone?

Every MCU fan knows that there are six gems that make up the Infinity Stones. The Tesseract, the Orb, the Eye of Agamotto, the Aether, the Soul Stone, and Loki's Scepter. One of the biggest shocks of Loki's first episode was that the TVA was inundated with these stones, with many even being used as paperweights throughout the office.

Casey showed Loki a drawer full of the things, and while fans may have been slightly awe-struck by the prospect, it could have slipped notice that there was a stone missing entirely. There was a flood of blue, purple, green, red, and orange, but no yellow. This, of course, would have been represented by the absent Mind Stone.

Originally hidden within the scepter Thanos gave to Loki in order to win him the Tesseract, it was pried out of the weapon by Ultron and put into the forehead of Vision before the Mad Titan ultimately plucked it free. Apparently, throughout all the timelines monitored by the TVA, no one ever took this particular stone when they shouldn't have.

This is a tiny detail that may not actually come to much, but it was obviously a conscious decision and there must have been a reason for it. There were three Space Stones, four Power Stones, six Time Stones, six Reality Stones, and two Soul Stones.
