Lost: 20 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References You Must See
19. Sawyer's Books
Episode(s): White Rabbit, Confidence Man, Left Behind, The Long Con, Two For The Road, Maternity Leave, Par Avion, Expose, Flashes Before Your Eyes Lost fans will know that Sawyer showcased a real penchant for reading across the length of the show, and he could always been seen with a copy of a book in his hands during the show's first few seasons whenever anybody came to enlist his services. Sawyer went through a lot of novels, of course, and if you squinted just hard enough it was possible to see which books took his fancy - many of which were subtle nods to the events occurring in certain episodes. So, for example, Sawyer could be seen reading Richard Adam's classic Watership Down in the episode White Rabbit, whilst in Expose he's seen reading Agatha Christie's Murder Under The Sun when Nikki comes to ask for a gun. Sawyer's other books include Bad Twin, The Fountainhead, Are You There God? It's Me Margaret, Lancelot and Laughter in the Dark. Quite the ravenous reader, that Sawyer.
