Lost In Space Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

1. It's Shockingly Dull At Times

The various pacing, plotting, dialogue and character issues conspire to ensure that, far more often than is acceptable, Lost in Space is just a bit of a soulless bore.

With the characters being so tough to like, a lot of the intended emotion falls flat, and so the various discussions about marital discord, and especially the bond between Will and his pet robot, aren't nearly as affecting as intended.

It adds up to a weirdly generic sci-fi romp that's painfully under-written, and that doesn't at all benefit from Netflix encouraging viewers to binge their way through it. Sitting through the lot in a day is, honestly, totally stamina-draining.

As problematic as the show is creatively, it's certainly not a total dud, so here's what it actually gets right...
