Louis CK and Spike FerestenCBS has turned to writing veterans Louis CK and Spike Feresten to produce a new sitcom about young individuals trying to make it in the recession. The duo previously worked together about ten years ago when they attempted to create a show entitled Boomtown which never aired. Both also wrote for The Late Show with David Letterman in the mid-90s and have had pretty successful comedy careers since. There have been dozens of new shows greenlit recently, but this looks to be the most promising. Louis CK has had his hands full in the last few months, between writing, directing and editing Louie for FX and making over a million dollars selling his comedy special directly to fans. Those who follow the woes of Louis CK know that he was recently divorced and has become a bit of a workaholic ever since. Also, everything he touches turns to comedic gold, so I expect nothing but perfection from this new show. Of course, he€™ll have to tune it down a bit for network primetime, but I€™m sure he can make it work. Feresten has also been busy in recent years, hosting his own show Talkshow with Spike Feresten until 2009. He is currently working on another pilot for Fox about a single dad. Still, he€™s got some major writing chops, his previous work includes The Simpsons and Seinfeld. In case you€™re wondering, he wrote both €œThe Soup Nazi€ and €œMuffin Tops€ for the latter, so I think I trust his credentials. Together, Louis CK and Spike Feresten make a pretty powerful combination; I just hope their comedy can thrive at CBS, which can be a bit restricting. Details are sketchy, but I€™m sure we can enjoy a PG-13 sitcom with an awkward and vulgar twist.
