Love, Victor Season 2 Review: 8 Ups & 3 Downs

2. It Leaves You Wanting More

Love Victor Michael Cimino
Hulu

As frustrating as the first season's pacing was for many, it was an expert method of highlighting that there were a lot of places to go in Victor's story of self-discovery. While Love, Simon had to fast-track a lot of that, the Hulu series took its time with it and, in spite of the predictable cliffhanger ending, it undeniably left viewers wanting more.

That 'more' came in the form of the lesser-discussed second chapter of the coming out experience, chronicling Victor's first relationship with a boy while delving into how each of his family members accepted him in their own time. Like any TV teenage love story, it had its own issues but it did find its way back to a place that once again left you wanting more.

The ending doesn't quite recreate the authentic edge-of-seat feeling that Victor's coming out did but it does ensure that you'll be back for season 3 - and that, in itself, is a huge win for a show that could have been one-and-done.
