Lucifer: Every Season Finale Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)
2. A Devil Of My Word - Season 3
This was the finale that changed everything for the show, not just because Chloe finally saw Lucifer's Devil Face, but because this was the episode that the series almost ended on.
Fortunately Netflix picked up the show for future seasons after Fox cancelled it, and after the way season 3 ended it's no wonder why fans were so eager to see more. Not only was the cliffhanger an excellent hook, but the episode overall was a tense and gripping conclusion to a strong season.
Marcus Pierce, AKA Cain, really gets to shine here and is a great example of how to do a human villain right. He might not be as powerful as Lucifer but he makes up for it with how cunning he is - always being several steps ahead of the main characters. It makes Pierce feel dangerous and it makes his eventual defeat all the more satisfying.
Outside of the villain there's also plenty of other highlights, such as Dan's breakdown over losing Charlotte and Maze and Linda reconciling their friendship. The only thing missing is Amenadiel whose absence is definitely felt here. Despite that however this finale is still incredibly strong.
