Luke Cage Season 2: 32 Easter Eggs & References Explained
30. Run DMC
Luke Cage has well and truly become a brand name superhero by the time season two kicks off, and Luke's new pal D.W. Griffith (Jeremiah Richard Craft) takes full advantage by creating an extensive line of T-shirts, caps and other memorabilia to commemorate his heroism.
Perhaps the most eye-catching design of the lot is a blatant homage to the Run DMC logo, with the white text and red bars mirroring the rap outfit's iconic logo almost exactly.
29. Barack Obama & Joe Biden
When Luke shows up at Pop's Barber Shop to talk to D.W. and Bobby Fish (Ron Cephas Jones), a sign is briefly visible on the wall which reads, "Muhammad Ali, Nelson Mandela, Richard Roundtree, Michael Jordan, Al Pacino, Pat Riley and Barack & Joe don't pay."
Clearly those latter two names are referring to Barack Obama and his former Vice President Joe Biden, if you needed any indication at all of the political affiliation of Luke and company (surprise, it ain't Trump).
