If those involved in Making a Murderer were comic-book characters, Strang, Buting and Zellner would be the superheroes while Avery and Dassey would be the unsuspecting victims. That leaves only the villain - a role which Ken Kratz inhabits perfectly. Although justice has not been served for Avery or Dassey, it has, in a way, for the perpetually smirking, pompous lump that is Kratz. For that, let us all be thankful.

Anybody who finished the documentary’s first season will know that the prosecutor abused his position of power and sexually harassed a number of women. Since this information came out, his career has unsurprisingly bombed. Overall, he has been keeping a low profile, even voluntarily resigning his Wisconsin law license.

His treatment of Avery and Dassey during their trials was widely criticised, causing Kratz to receive a slew of negative comments and death threats online. His Yelp page is, in particular, is a sight to behold. For example, Yelp user Mary G writes that she has “taken sh*ts with more integrity” than the prosecutor, while Eric W brands him a “Pathetic toxic stain on the universe”. These are two of the kindest observations pertaining to Kratz that can be found on the internet.
