Marvel's Iron Fist: 10 Spoiler Free Reactions To First Six Episodes
7. It's Basically Arrow, But Not As Good
After years stuck in a mysterious land, and believed to be dead by everyone, the heir to a billion dollar company shockingly returns to his home city, intent on taking back control of his company and cleaning it up. Oh, and in his time away he's become a highly-trained fighting machine as well.
Ok, so the similarities between Danny Rand and Oliver Queen may have started on the page, but it's impossible not to note them on the screen as well - and this is an occasion where DC have Marvel beat.
The initial setup, plot beats, and even the roles of certain characters all feel incredibly similar to what we witnessed in the first season of Arrow. The difference is that the DC show (even if it wasn't recognisably Green Arrow back then) had a far more convincing lead in Stephen Amell, who nailed the emotional and mental state of the character and the out-of-water nature of a man returning home.
The fight scenes, too, were better, standing at the time as some of the best on TV and with more intensity than what's on offer here.
