Marvel's Iron Fist: 10 Things That Must Happen In Season 2

Likewise, a core part of Danny Rand's origin story is that he battles the dragon known as Shou-Lao the Undying to earn the mantle of the Iron Fist. Yes, he fights a dragon. Forget about spider bites and gamma radiation, that has to be the best superhero origin ever!

And yet Iron Fist - the very first live-action adaptation of the character - completely fumbled depicting that battle on screen. Again, we got some references to it in the early episodes but nothing approaching a look at it. Eventually, we saw a flashback of Danny immediately after the battle, and later still a brief glimpse at two malevolent red eyes staring out of the cave, but that's it. For season two, we need to see that battle on screen as it is such an important moment for Danny's character. Even if the show completely diverges from the source material...

Intriguingly, in the flashback where Danny exits the cave, he looks back at it with guilt and mentions that "it wasn't what I thought it would be." Does that mean that it perhaps isn't a real dragon in that cave? Hopefully the show will provide some answers next time around.
