Marvel's Iron Fist: 44 Easter Eggs & Reference You Must See

38. Red Hook

Red Hook - the location for the pier that Rand are attempting to buy to covertly assist in The Hand's import of heroin to New York - is of course a real area of Brooklyn. It's also a significant area for Marvel comics for a number of reason.

It's where Captain America moved when his civilian identity is revealed, it was the site of a secret Hydra base and the location of the secret base of the Green Liberation Front (both nefarious agencies developed super-powered armour there, coincidentally). It's basically billed as a bad place (its real world reputation reflected on the page), and has appeared in Spider-Man and Defenders comics multiple times, usually when the story calls for a dangerous neighbourhood. The fact that Rand were investing there should have rang all sorts of alarm bells.

The pier in question is probably also the same location that Daredevil busts in the first season, and where he first encounters Turk Barrett, who fails to make an appearance in a Netflix show for the first time.
