Marvel's Iron Fist Review: 3 Ups And 7 Downs

5. Terribly Written Dialogue

One of the biggest issues of the show comes from the writing, and that's extremely evident in the dialogue the cast is forced to try and chew through. Across 13 episodes, it offers up some of the clunkiest, corniest lines you're likely to hear from the MCU.

Some of the lines offered up are just ridiculously on-the-nose, others the kind you can't imagine any reasonable person saying, let alone the guy who is supposed to be the Iron Fist, with examples including:

"You chatter like monkeys. Your kicks and punches are like lace curtains."

"A weapon doesn't know feelings."

"Hey, you’re that security guard from earlier!"

Out of context, they don't read particularly well anyway, but they're far worse in the context of the show, and one of the most egregious aspects of the bad writing that runs through the series.
