Marvel's Iron Fist: What Does The Ending Really Mean?

3. Davos Is Going Full Mordo

If you experienced pangs of familiarity when Davos turned up and revealed the nature of his rivalry with Iron Fist and then turned on him to preserve the laws of K'Un-Lun and the sanctity of the Iron Fist role, you probably weren't alone. His heel turn against Danny (even though he makes a few good points about dereliction of duty and honour) is almost exactly the same as happens with Baron Mordo in Doctor Strange.

The two characters' trajectory will now presumably follow the same track: they're both zealots (though Davos has even more reason to be upset now that K'Un-Lun has been destroyed) and both want to kill the hero for besmirching the good name of their faith. Both will return as the villain in sequels, and both will probably allow true villainy soak into the increasingly.

How Davos achieves his agenda to kill Danny (and presumably replace him as Iron Fist, even though there's now nothing to protect) remains to be seen, but it seems likely he'll be unified with Joy and Gao at the very least the next we see of him.
