Marvel's Jessica Jones Season 2: 10 Best Moments
4. Kilgrave Returns...Kinda (Episode 11, "AKA Three Lives and Counting")
It's totally fair to say that this season suffered immensely from the absence of David Tennant's Kilgrave, who was such an effective antagonist last season and stands tall as one of the MCU's overall most compelling villains.
However, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg clearly realised this, as she had Kilgrave re-appear as a manifestation in Jessica's head in the eleventh episode, taunting her after she killed abusive prison officer Dale Holiday in self-defence at the end of the previous episode.
Kilgrave periodically pops up, encouraging Jess to make Holiday's murder look like a suicide, and also suggesting she totally give over to her darker side. Hell, he even sings a little of Trish's pop tune "I Want Your Cray Cray", and randomly shows up while Jess is showering. Creepy.
Though Jess ultimately insists she's not going to go on a murderous rampage like her mother, Kilgrave departs with the chilling words, "I'm around if you need me."
Though it'd probably be pretty cheap to bring Kilgrave out of the closet again in the future, it was a fun novelty to see Jess "trading banter with a delusion", as she so eloquently put it.
