20. Nuke

When it was revealed that Will Simpson was using Dr Koslov's super-powered pills to make himself exceptional and that he'd survived the season, it definitely looked like he'd return in the second season as supervillain Nuke - the evolution of his character in the comics.

And while Simpson does return, it's not in the way most fans may have expected. He's no super-villain, instead turning up to protect Trish - his ex-girlfriend - from the mysterious killer clearing up after IGH. He's still on the same drugs, but he now has an inhaler rather than his pils.

It seems he's recovered some of his sanity, though it doesn't work out for him very well as he ends up having his neck snapped early on.
