Marvel's Luke Cage: 44 Easter Eggs You Probably Missed
41. "Them Other Fellas Down Town"
Inevitably, there are references to the wider MCU, and most specifically the Avengers. Pop uses them as a reference point, saying Luke "should help people like those other fellas downstairs."
Soon after there's a kid on the street selling DVDs of the Incident, including Tony Stark, the "big blonde dude with the hammer, the old dude with the shield, the green monster... and I don't mean Fenway".
Detective Scarfe later says he was on the ground at the Incident, and he realises straight away how irrelevant police now are. He saw The Incident close up and unless his gun turns into a "magic hammer" he's got no chance. Let them do it, he says.
There are echoes of Civil War too: Misty Knight says "they don't have the right to start meting out Justice."
And in Episode 7, Cottonmouth calls Luke Cage "Harlem's Captain America," actually naming one of the Avengers, atypically.
