Marvel's The Defenders: 10 Reasons To Be Excited
4. All Four Heroes Are In A Very Different Place
As stated perviously, all four of The Defenders will be in a very different place than when we last saw them. Matt's now reportedly shunned his vigilante duties, Luke's on the mend from his re-inherited prison sentence, and both Jessica and Danny have been left to deal with the very serious consequences their own respective stories left them.
It would've been easy to kick things off with the status-quo remaining as it is, much like The Avengers did in 2012, but it's clear that The Defenders is more than just a summer event. We are, yes, getting to see a bunch of kickass heroes coming together in a big-budget spectacle, but the way in which they do will be in a much more organic way, and indeed, in one that'll see them all get a hefty dose of character development in the process.
Given that all four heroes are due to make more solo appearances in the future, it would feel unnatural for the events of The Defenders to bear little on their own respective journeys. The buzz surrounding the show tells us that it'll have a major impact on New York, and it can only mean that good things are still to come.
