Described as a "thundering dumbass" by Scott Glenn's Stick, and teased to death in the first trailer for the show, it's pretty clear that nobody's favourite Iron Fist will be the butt of many jokes throughout the series.
Whether it's intentional or not, it is funny to see The Defenders' showrunners acknowledge some of the backlash to the character in the wake of what was the only really noticeable flop of Marvel's Netflix contingent thus far. And, while it is more than likely that a better script and some screen time with Luke will somewhat redeem Danny, it'll be hard to shake some of the notoriety the character garnered earlier this year.
Despite there being a plethora of Marvel heroes more deserving of a TV series than Danny Rand (Colleen Wing and Misty Knight being two of them), it's clear now that we'll be getting another solo season of the character. For fans of the wider Iron Fist mythology, we can only hope that it's a good one.
