Marvel's The Defenders: 8 Things That Must Happen

Please, please, please get rid of the Hand already. Madame Gao is an effective enigmatic villain and they were fine when they were hanging around the background of Daredevil season one, but the evil ninja clan's major presence in both Daredevil season two and Iron Fist acted to the detriment of those shows.

They are too much of a vague, nebulous threat and a real backwards step from the brilliance of those individual villains we spoke of earlier. And, let's face it, it's kind of hard to take the Hand seriously after they have been so memorably parodied in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

Thankfully, with The Defenders, there is a real opportunity to stop the Hand for good. Obviously, it would be tough for four street-level heroes to destroy an immortal organisation with tendrils everywhere, but to just make them disappear from New York would be enough.

Seeing as Iron Fist season two will likely pick up the dangling plot-thread of Madame Gao's alliance with the Meachums, we assume at least she will make it out of this alive. Gao can get a free pass, then, but it is definitely time for the rest of the Hand to be shown the boot.
