5. Misty Knight

Misty has one of the best character arcs across The Defenders because her story follows on so seamlessly from where we left her in Luke Cage. In that series, Misty went from a dedicated, by-the-book cop to someone who was starting to think like a vigilante. Here, she is pushed even closer to becoming the character from the comics.

In The Defenders, Misty begins as a minor antagonist - well, more of an obstacle - in our heroes' way, as she tries to lead her own investigation, but by the end she is betraying the NYPD to help the Defenders bring down a skyscraper. Likewise, she ends the series with the promise of a comic book accurate bionic arm on the way and a potential friendship with Colleen brewing.
