Marvel's The Defenders: Ranking Every Major Character From Worst To Best

2. Jessica Jones

Personally, I was most looking forward to The Defenders for the chance to see Jessica Jones being part of a superhero team. The woman is so cynical and mocking of the idea of being a hero that it seemed like it should produce some terrific character interactions. Thankfully, for the most part, The Defenders delivered. The dialogue could have been sharper but Krysten Ritter's performance and chemistry with her co-stars is as top-notch as you would hope.

Jessica works so well in this show as she bounces off the other three heroes brilliantly. She and Danny Rand are polar opposites in terms of personality which leads to a lot of fun. Jessica and Matt also spark off each other but, ultimately, have a lot in common and quickly form a bond. Perhaps the best is the complex place the series leaves her and Luke. There are clearly still feelings bubbling up under the surface between those two, but their traumatic shared history is holding them back.

Jessica Jones would definitely be The Defenders' MVP, if it wasn't for...
