8. Stick

Appears On: Daredevil It says a lot that in a series already loaded with memorable characters, Scott Glenn made such a hugely memorable mark as Matt's former mentor in a single appearance. A consummate hardass, Stick's sarcastic persona was a great contrast to the "softer" Matt of past and present, with his warrior mentality frustrating yet understandable. And yet, beneath it all, the reveal that he had held on to the bracelet young Matt had once made for him served as a powerful moment that spoke volumes about the heart buried deep within, wonderfully recontextualizing the character and his relationship with Matt one final time before episode's end. Fortunately, unlike the entries on this list so far, Stick's future is bright, even if it may mean a darker one for Matt himself. Last viewers saw of Stick, he and Stone were ominously discussing whether Matt would be ready for what's to come. The character has been confirmed to return for the show's second season, and hopefully fans can be treated to even more of him and his tumultuous father-son dynamic with Matt beyond a lone episode.
