Marvel Cinematic Universe: Every Upcoming TV Show Ranked By Anticipation

4. The Punisher

Premieres: Likely 2017/2018 Even before it was confirmed that the Punisher would be joining the second season of Daredevil, fans were calling for Marvel to bring the character to life and do him right. When Jon Bernthal was cast in the role, many rejoiced, and it seems pretty clear now that the show is going to appease many fans with its interpretation of the character. Between the warm public reception the MCU's take on Frank Castle has already received despite the season not even being released yet, the early buzz that Bernthal has nailed it, and the fact that the dark tone required for his own series would be right at home with the other Netflix shows, it's no surprise that Netflix is allegedly considering giving him a series all to his own. At this point, it's more a matter of when they announce it rather than if, but such an announcement would likely take place after Daredevil's second season is out. With the Punisher, the MCU would also have a whole host of new characters to bring into the fold, from allies like Microchip, Rachel Cole-Alves, and Martin Soap to villains like the Russian, Barracuda, Jigsaw, or any of the major crime families Castle has gone up against over the years. However it shakes out, it's easy to look forward to seeing the Punisher in action in the MCU for the first time, whatever his future may hold.
