Marvel's Daredevil: 10 Iconic Moments That Must Happen
9. Vanessa Blackmails Matt Murdock
The Wilson/Vanessa romance was one of the strongest aspects of the first season, with Ayelet Zurer's take on Vanessa Marianna suggesting that she might as allured by a life of crime as much as Wilson, which alludes to the character's development in the comics in which she is ultimately corrupted by her continual exposure to the never-ending Kingpin/Daredevil feud - causing her to blame Matt Murdock for destroying her marriage.
With the Ed Brubaker-penned 'The Devil Takes A Ride', we're given an idea of the lengths to which Vanessa is willing to go to even a score. With her husband in prison, Vanessa hatched a plot to blackmail Matt Murdock into freeing Wilson Fisk with threats of revealing his identity.
Considering how things ended for Vanessa at the conclusion of the first season, it's understandable that she may harbor some resentment toward the man responsible for destroying her relationship, and if the show decides to go that route, Brubaker's tale will likely serve as inspiration.
