Marvel's Daredevil: 10 Iconic Moments That Must Happen
Charting the future for ol' Hornhead.
Capping off on a spectacular note, the Netflix series has riveted audiences with a suitably gritty take on the Marvel hero, receiving widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike.
With Charlie Cox in the titular role, the show has managed to do justice to a character long-deserving of an adaptation worthy of the name and despite the fact that it hasn't even been a month since the premiere, a second season is already on the way. With hype at an all-time high and news trickling in every other day, fans have jumped at every little morsel of information with a scalpel, dissecting and examining every interview and stray comment with laser-like focus for possible clues.
Speculation has run the gamut from costume overhauls and potential love interests, to raving psychopaths and spandex-clad cameos. With a seemingly endless array of channels open for exploration, what's a fan to do? Well when in doubt, just go to the source.
With a history spanning decades of fantastic comics to draw from, the possibilities certainly seem endless. But with so much ground still left to cover, there's a multitude of opportunities to weave the rich history of the source material into the series to set up future seasons. Who knows, maybe a certain sai-wielding ninja may show up. Or a skull-wearing dispenser of punishment...
WARNING: Spoilers for the series may follow.
10. Kingpin Outs Daredevil
The Daredevil/Kingpin feud culminates in the 'Murdock Papers', an arc that sees Wilson Fisk offering proof of Daredevil's identity to the FBI in exchange for his freedom. It's eventually revealed that the deal was a ruse masterminded by the Kingpin for the purpose of drawing out Daredevil who is shot while attempting to intercept the nonexistent files.
Anticipating that Daredevil might seek treatment for his injuries, Wilson tips off the FBI to the Night Nurse's operation, leading to Matt Murdock's arrest and subsequent conviction.
Concluding his run in grand fashion, Brian Michael Bendis follows through on the themes explored earlier with his work on 'Out' and sees it through to it's natural conclusion, with dire repercussions for all involved.
Considering that most of the major components are already in place, it wouldn't be very difficult to incorporate aspects of the 'Murdock Papers' somewhere down the line for future seasons, and the idea of Matt Murdock's duel life eventually catching up to him would make for riveting television.
