21. How Kingpin Gets His Look
Vanessa Mariana - a maiden name unknown up until the TV show fleshed it out - is of course the future Mrs Wilson Fisk. It is she who plays a major part in forming Kingpin.
And not just spiritually: when she tells Wilson of the time when she was seduced by a guy in a white suit and an ascot it's clearly a tongue-in-cheek reference to how KIngpin has always traditionally looked in the comics.
Incidentally, fans do get to see Wilson in a famous white suit, but the prison garb he wears at the end of the final episode probably isn't what was initially expected.
