Marvel's Daredevil Season 2: 10 Ups And 2 Downs

11. The Return Of Wilson Fisk

Ah yes, Wilson Fisk. Season 1 owes as much to its villain as it does its hero, with Vincent D'Onofrio delivering an incredibly nuanced and compelling portrayal of the Hell's Kitchen Kingpin.

Although the first season ended with him behind bars, you'd have been mistaken if you thought his story - and his power - was done. His return is a longtime coming, but when he finally does show up he helps give the season a second wind.

He doesn't dominate the story as he did in the first season, and nor should he. Instead, he's pulling strings from prison, unleashes the Punisher, and has a great face-off with Matt Murdock.

He mentions that he's playing the long-game, and Netflix here are playing the long-game with the character, setting things up nicely for the future while having an immediate impact as well, and D'Onofrio is great to watch no matter how much we get of him.
