Marvel's Daredevil Season 2: 10 Ups And 2 Downs
8. More For Karen To Do
Karen wasn't a bad character in the first season of Daredevil, but she did start out as a damsel-in-distress and despite helping out at the law firm she didn't progress too far beyond that.
She's given a more established arc here, and not just as a love interest, although that is obviously a part of it. Her relationship with Matt feels natural, and there's an easy chemistry between the pair.
That's not where her character really shines though. Firstly, she comes through as a vital part of Nelson & Murdock, so much so there's talk of her going to law school and the firm becoming Nelson, Murdock & Page. Then she breaks into journalism and, well apparently degrees and other qualifications aren't important, but bringing her personal perspective on The Punisher, and adding more to her mysterious backstory, makes up for it.
She's closely connected to Frank Castle, and gets through to him in a way no one else can, allowing us to see beyond the Punisher and to the much more human core underneath.
