Marvel's Daredevil Season 2: 10 Ups And 2 Downs
6. An Elektra To Remember
While praise for Bernthal's Punisher has been universal and effusive, Elektra may prove to be a little more divisive. There are issues with the way she fits into the story towards the end, and her arrival interrupts the blistering start to Season 2, but in terms of Elektra herself then this is definitely an improvement on what we've seen before. Much like Season 1 of Daredevil made up for the film, Season 2 and Elektra helps make up for the 2005 disaster.
Elodie Yung handles the character with aplomb, the devil on the shoulder of Matt, a sign of his past and what he could be, and something a part of him still is. She provides her own action moments and never feels out of place, while bringing in turns humour and vengeful rage that keep the character interesting.
As mentioned, it's not something without issue, but it's still a big improvement, and a worthy addition to the show despite the later problems.
