3. Wilson Fisk's Return Is Exactly What The Show Needed

While Daredevil's second outing was still mostly good, it did suffer a dip in quality after the Punisher mini-arc was done with, as the show lacked focus and neither Elektra nor the Hand could live up to that high bar. Season 1 was so great, in part, because of Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk, who wasn't just one of the best villains we've seen in the MCU, but also provided a perfect counterpoint for Matt Murdock.

He briefly (and brilliantly) appeared in Season 2, but he's back properly here, and the show is all the better for it. It's rare to get a comic book movie or TV show villain with such a great amount of development, and D'Onofrio keeps on finding new colours with which to shade in his Fisk, all while donning a suit of the crispest white.

D'Onofrio brings out a number of sides to Fisk here: there's the hulking, raging force of nature who delivers unstoppable violence, there's the calm, methodical, and would have you believe misunderstand person who just wants to do right by Hell's Kitchen, and most interestingly there's a deeply wounded man who seems to genuinely care for the woman he professes to love, Vanessa.

He's capable of being as charming as he is menacing, and his continued presence gives the show back its axis to move around, while bringing in new elements like Bullseye on top so that it's not overly reliant on the Fisk/Matt dynamic.
