Marvel's Daredevil Season 3: What Does The Ending Really Mean?

9. A Power Vacuum In Hell's Kitchen

Daredevil Vanessa Fisk
Netflix

Speaking of Fisk, with him once again behind bars - and likely there for much longer this time - there's again a power vacuum in Hell's Kitchen. Fisk is a man who leaves a huge hole behind, and there'll be all sorts of people looking to fill it.

We've heard of all manner of crime organisations not only in this season - usually defined simply by their nationality, i.e. the Japanese, the Albanians, the Russians etc - but in this broader universe, such as the Gnuccis and Carbones. So in other words, with Fisk out of the way, lots of people are going to be looking for a slice of the Hell's Kitchen pie.

The person who might well be best placed, though, is actually Vanessa. She's very clearly drawn to the underworld, and has watched Fisk at work for some time. With access to his contacts and the Fisk name behind her, there's definitely scope for her to take the reigns behind-the-scenes and start pulling some strings.
